Full disclosure: this is Journali's own review page. We're going to be honest about where it wins and where it falls short — because you'll figure that out within a week of using it anyway.
Journali is a great fit if you're an active trader logging at least 5 trades per week and you're sick of spreadsheets that you update for two weeks and then abandon. Specifically, these traders get the most out of it:
You should probably skip Journali if you trade less than once a month, you're a pure buy-and-hold long-term investor, or you only want to track crypto (not supported yet — on the roadmap).
Every trading journal lives or dies by how fast you can log a trade. Journali's form has two modes: Quick Log (15 seconds — instrument, direction, P&L, setup) and Full Log (30-60 seconds — adds entry/exit, stop loss, emotion, notes, screenshot). The full form is what you'd fill out during a proper review session. The quick form is what you fill out during a live session when you just want to get the trade recorded.
Compared to Tradezella's multi-tab entry form, Journali's single-scroll layout is faster. Compared to a Google Sheet, it calculates R-multiple, win rate deltas, and position size automatically.
The analytics page answers the questions that actually change behavior: what's your best-performing setup, what's your worst market hour, how does your performance degrade after a big loss, what's your average R-multiple on winners vs. losers. These aren't "P&L line chart" charts — they're decision charts.
If you've used TraderSync or Edgewonk, you'll feel familiar — Journali's analytics are in the same ballpark, just with a cleaner UI and no feature gates on the core views (Free plan gets basic analytics; Pro unlocks the advanced drilldowns).
This is the flagship feature and honestly the reason most Pro users upgrade to Premier. Click the 🧠 icon on any closed trade and the AI reads the setup, entry/exit, your notes, and your emotional state — then gives you direct feedback.
Unlike generic "AI" features that spit out platitudes, this one references your specific trade. Example output on a revenge trade: "This was your 3rd trade in 12 minutes after a $340 loss. Your historical win rate drops from 58% to 24% within an hour of a loss. This trade was predictable. Step away from the screen for 30 minutes after losses over 1R."
50 calls per day. That's enough for the most active trader to analyze every trade and still have calls left for AI Reconstruction and AI Weekly Debrief.
Connect once, trades auto-import. Supported brokers include Tradovate (for futures), NinjaTrader, IBKR, TD Ameritrade, Webull, Schwab, Fidelity, Tastytrade, Robinhood, and Moomoo. For anything else, CSV import handles it. No manual copy-paste from your broker statement.
Dedicated UI that knows the rules for Apex, FTMO, Topstep, MFFU, Elite Trader Funding, Funded Next, The 5ers, and more. It tracks your daily loss limit, max drawdown, profit target, and minimum trading days in real time. If you're close to a soft breach, it warns you before you click Buy.
Five rooms (general, futures, equities, options, win-loss) where Journali users chat about their trading day. No muted channels, no "premium tier required to message" — every plan gets full community access. Small but active.
Straightforward three-tier pricing:
6 trades total (lifetime cap), basic dashboard, basic analytics. This is the trial — you use it to see if Journali's workflow clicks for you before paying.
Unlimited trades, full analytics, calendar, setups library, goals, rules tracking, CSV import, prop firm mode. This is what most serious daily traders end up on.
Everything in Pro plus AI Trade Coach, AI Reconstruction, AI Weekly Debrief. 50 AI calls per day. If you're serious about improving, this tier pays for itself the first time the AI catches a pattern that saves you from blowing up an account.
Billing flexibility: Pay monthly, weekly, or yearly. Cancel anytime. No annual-only lock-in. Yearly pricing saves ~30% vs monthly ($150 Pro yearly, $250 Premier yearly).
We've written detailed side-by-side comparisons with the main competitors:
"The best trading journal is the one you actually use. Speed of logging matters more than any feature list. That's the metric we optimized Journali for."
Being honest about gaps:
If you're an active trader and you've tried using a spreadsheet and given up, or you're on another journal app and the UI slows you down, Journali is worth the 45 seconds it takes to create a free account and try the workflow. You'll know within your first week whether it fits. If not, there's nothing to cancel — the Free tier is permanent.
Everyone on the Pro or Premier tier opted in because the value is obvious once you actually use it. We're confident enough in this that we don't lock basic features behind a paywall to manufacture friction.
Create your Journali account in 45 seconds. Log 6 trades on the Free tier to see if it fits your workflow.
